Within community, and with expert guidance, find a strengthened capacity to navigate your unique experience of loss and grief

Do you experience feelings of:

  • being unseen, unheard and judged?
  • loss of direction, sense of self and happiness?
  • isolation, exhaustion and hopelessness?

Pathways Through Grief offers participants a caring space where grief is witnessed, stories are honoured, and connections are made – bringing about a sense of steadiness, hope and belonging.

During Our Time Together We Will Look Into:

The many forms grief can take.

Making space for difficult feelings without judgement.

The experience of loss and the changing shape of identity.

Navigating triggers and the rollercoaster of grief.

The role of memory, meaning and continuing bonds

Practicing self-compassion whilst honouring your grief story at your pace.

A Message from Your Facilitator Dr. Fiona Benson

Who Am I To Do This Work

I am no stranger to grief in my own life, having lost my only sibling, and my parents in the space of a few short years. My personal encounters with grief shook me to my core and changed me in profound ways – strengthening my resolve to deepen my scholarship and practice around helping others navigate their own grief journeys. To that end, during my academic tenure at McGill University and working closely with the faculties of medicine and social work, I completed further studies in palliative care, and in the areas of loss, death, dying and bereavement.

I am deeply invested in, and committed to, the field of grief work, mental health and wellbeing.

I consider grief work sacred work, and am deeply privileged to be called to it.
