We arrived in Fort Kochin this afternoon, checked into the Fort House Hotel for a quick refresh. After a short stop, I gathered the group, and we travelled in two tuk-tuks to my favourite restaurant, Kashi. A healthy, artist vibe with some delicious Western food!

The afternoon was spent on a tour of places like the Dutch Place, old Catholic churches, temples and the laundry community. Here, the laundry is done by very small, strong men who scrub and beat the clothing over washing stones. It is a foundation where generations of families have lived and worked.

It was amazing to see the pride in their faces as their labour is meaningful and a continuation of a tradition from the Dutch era of colonization.
