Nikki is a sought-after teacher, and it is a great honour to have her here to practice with us. It is our sincere hope that you take advantage of this amazing opportunity to grow your practice with her inspired guidance!

What is Mysore?

Mysore is a self-guided yoga practice where students can practice at at their own pace with special guidance and direction from their teacher. Ever wanted to be shown the correct way into a pose? Ever wondered if there was a deeper way to embrace your practice? The Mysore room gives you the time and direction to do so.

Students learn postures in a fixed order using a special movement-breathing technique called Vinyasa (linking movement with breath). During this self-guided practice, you get guidance and support from your teacher with hands-on adjustments. The longer you do this practice, the more you will realize that yoga knowledge is a gift from your teacher. We are so deeply honoured to be hosting Nikki Pichert as our guest teacher in July and August.

You can read a little more about Mysore on our website here.

About Nikki Pichert

Nikki discovered yoga in 2006 after many years of competitive triathlon racing, swimming, and surfing, and fell in love with this ancient tradition that aims to bring balance and harmony to the body, mind, heart and spirit. Since then, she has studied extensively with her Ashtanga Yoga teachers, Rolf Naujokat in Goa, India and Sharath Jois in Mysore, India.

In March 2010, she was authorized by the Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India to teach the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa System. In August 2014, she was authorized at the second level.

Nikki continued to travel to India for an extended period of time on 8 occasions, to deepen her studies of the holistic practice of yoga under the guidance of her teachers Rolf Naujokat and Sharath Jois. She has had the fortunate opportunity to teach yoga in Canada, Australia, India, and Japan, helping others discover the healing effects of yoga.

Nikki teaches with eternal gratitude and reverence for her teachers and hopes to pass on any knowledge she has gained through studying with them and her own experience of yoga. She has found that no matter where in the world, profound benefits for the body, mind and spirit can be gained when bringing awareness to the breath, then connecting this breath with movement. It has been a humbling experience for her to discover through her own practice and teaching that Yoga has the capacity to bring calmness, peace, clarity, acceptance and surrender in one’s life, if one is willing to give it a try. She has found this transformational practice of Yoga to be an immensely useful tool in becoming more aware of the richness and beauty in our daily lives and hopes to share this spark of awakening with her students.
