Amanda is originally from the Haida Gwaii, but grew up in the Cowichan Valley. She was always heavily involved in sports, specifically competitive swimming through her youth and into adulthood. She’s always been curious about movement and the bodies ability to perform under stress.
Amanda completed the Registered Massage Therapy Diploma program in 2011, and has been practicing in the valley since 2012. She then completed her 200hr YTT with Deborah Carruthers in 2013, and has taught off and on over the past 11 years – taking time away from teaching when having my 2 boys in 2015 + 2018.
Amanda loves spending time with her kiddos, her family, being outdoors, anywhere near a body of water, and always with a coffee in hand! She loves exploring new sequences and adding animal flows, bringing fun and lightness to each of her yoga classes
Bringing together her 10 years of teaching and 12 years of massage therapy, working closely with the human body, Amanda’s hope is to improve mobility through dynamic movement, and increase strength with longer held shapes. She brings a lightness to the practice, warming up the body as we move throughout class, allowing the body to move organically from posture to posture, and the added heat allows the body to open up and enjoy each shape.
